The Final Countdown

So apparently going to school full time while being engaged and traveling to and from Utah every other week makes it difficult to be a consistent blogger. Who would have guessed?

March went out with a bang, Matt and I really enjoyed watching March Madness Basketball games together since both BYU and VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University where Matt will be attending dental school) were in the tournament. To our surprise and delight, the underdog VCU made it into The Final Four. That made it especially fun to watch and we got a jump start on our school pride. Matt's mom, Karen, sent us matching VCU Final Four T-shirts. I knew about it, but Matt didn't. When he showed up to my apartment that weekend I had the T-shirt on to see if he noticed. He did the second I opened the door and h was so excited like a kid on Christmas.

In between sessions of General Conference, we were able to watch the VCU Final Four game. Unfortunately, they did lose, but it was really great to be able to share that together and get excited about the school he will be going to.

The same day, I got a text with a picture of my nieces in the dresses they will be wearing for the wedding.

Adorable? Absolutely. I have also been working on hair accessories for the little girls on both sides.

Please excuse my ghetto work surface. And all the crap on the periphery. I may have gone a little overboard since there are not that many girls in the family. My plan is to have the girls wear the ones that are the light pink roses and then give them the other ones, too. Since there are two girls whose hair may be too fine (or just not enough), I made a couple that are ribbons so they can just be tied around their heads.

Carrie, Lillian, and I went to Roth's to do some cake tasting as well as to show the baker and decorator what I wanted the cake to look like. It's going to be a small one layer cutting cake since we are doing sheet cakes for the guests.

As you can see, we have been busy with the final wedding preparations. Matt is on his way to Virginia after finishing his last final, on which he did very well, and has about an other day and a half on the road. I miss him like crazy, being apart is so difficult. I can't wait for him to get here next Monday! Seven days until he gets here, twelve until we get married!
